Why the earth s megnetic north pole is called north and not south where is actually?

Because, of the compass needle is a magnet and the arrow (red color usually) is the north pole of this magnet can t be attracted from the north pole of the earth but from the south pole of the earth. As it is called in physics “Opposites Attract”!

Well…obviously the Earth’s magnetic pole that lies near the physical “north pole” is called the north magnetic pole because it is in the North.
So: what is the reason for calling a magnetic pole that (like on a compass needle) points to the north magnetic pole “north”? Because it points toward the north, of course.

– magnetically speaking a south pole
– geographically speaking THE north magnetic pole
