Answer ( 1 )

  1. The graph is showing the distance the lizard moves each second. During the first two seconds the lizard moves 2 meters. Let’s use the following equation to determine its velocity.

    v = d ÷ t = 10 ÷ 2 = 5 m/s

    Let’s use the following equation to determine the slope of the first line.

    Slope = (df – di) ÷ t = 10 ÷ 2 = 5
    This is the velocity of the lizard. This simplifies this problem.

    v2 = (30 – 10) ÷ 2 = 10 m/s

    v3 = 0 m/s

    In a distance versus time graph, the velocity is equal to the slope of line. I hope this is helpful for you in the future.
